Understanding Cerebral Palsy and Autism

Cerebral Palsy (CP) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) are developmental conditions that affect how a person moves, learns, and interacts with the world. Though distinct, both require early intervention, specialized care, and continuous support to help individuals reach their full potential.

Cerebral Palsy is a group of neurological disorders caused by brain injury or abnormal brain development before, during, or shortly after birth. It primarily affects movement, muscle tone, and posture. Children with CP may experience difficulties with walking, balance, or coordination, and in some cases, challenges with speech and learning. Physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and assistive devices play a crucial role in improving mobility, independence, and overall quality of life.

Autism Spectrum Disorder, on the other hand, is a developmental condition that influences social interaction, communication, and behavior. Children with autism may struggle with eye contact, speech, or adapting to change, but they often possess remarkable abilities such as strong memory, creativity, or focus in specific areas. Structured learning environments, speech therapy, and behavioral interventions can significantly enhance their social and communication skills.

At Ezekiel Special Needs School, we believe that every child—whether living with cerebral palsy, autism, or any other developmental condition—deserves love, dignity, and equal opportunities. Our programs are designed to provide individualized education, therapeutic care, and emotional support tailored to each learner’s unique needs. Every act of understanding and support moves us closer to a world where all children, regardless of ability, can thrive and shine.
